Lofoten International Chamber Music Lofoten International Chamber Music Festival is an annual festival that provides chamber music with internationally acclaimed musicians.
The festival is often referred as the "World's Most Beautiful Music" These are obviously things that can not be measured, but to experience some of the finest classical music
in an area which many termed as the most beautiful, make sure there is quite a big credibility.
This summer the posters names are Sigmund Quartett, Nash Ensemble, as well as Engegård Quartet. Other names: Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Peter Jablonski and Christian Ihle Hadland (piano), Vilde Frang(strings), John Weissler (vocals) and Kare Nordstoga (organ).
The characteristics of the program, a focus on some of the most famous composers and their finest works. The festival is also very well liked also by the ordinary music lovers, because the music conveyed in a popular way with the typical North Norwegian warmth and humor. The concerts held in different parts of the Lofoten Islands.

We live in cabins on the original Kræmmervika in Ballstad, which is an old trading post from the 1500s. The unique atmosphere of the cabins give us insight into the site's rich history. Ballstad is located in the middle of Lofoten and every day we travel by bus to experience concerts in Nusfjord, Reine, Buksnes, Borge, Hol and Fygle, in addition to the opening concert in Lofoten Culturehouse and the last concert in Lofoten Cathedral. It is also time to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Lofoten Islands, hiking or just relax, and visit galleries and museums. Every day we can enjoy gourmet meals which the region has to offer, from both sea and inland.

Day 1: Arrival Lofoten / Leknes by plane or bus. Transportation from Leknes to Kræmmervika.
After the welcome and presentation we have dinner before we go to Svolvaer and the opening concert of Lofoten including with names as Engegård Quartet and Jean-Efflam Bavouzet in the program. Back to Kræmmervika there will be served hot soup in the pub.

Day 2: After breakfast we are transported to the famous fishing village Nusfjord. Here we get a guided tour before the concert at 13:00 at Restaurant Karoline. We return to Kræmmervika for lunch. There will be some time on your own after lunch. For those who want it is fine for small walks along the sea or up the hill before we travel to Stamsund Church. Music by Wagner and Brahms are on the program. We travel on to the concert in Flakstad Church, where the music of Haydn and Arensky is performed. We are back in Kræmmervika at midnight where we are served hot soup.

Day 3: We have breakfast and then go to Reine. There is some time to look around Reine on your own before the concert in Reine Church. It is possible to choose a round trip by boat in Reinefjord as an alterantiv to the concert in Reine Church. The boat trip is not included in the price. We return to Kræmmervika for dinner, before the next concert in Buksnes church. We then go on to the evening concert in Borge Church. Back to Kræmmervika we have some supper.

Day 4: After breakfast we have time to relax before we go to the famous fishing village of Henningsvær. There is time to look around before visiting the Gallery Lofoten, and dinner at Fiskekrogen. The tour then continues to concert in Lofoten Cathedral where we will hear music by Schumann, Webern and Franck. We end the day with concert in Hol church and muscic of Svend and Brahms, before we go back to Kræmmervika and a little midnight snack.

Da y 5:  We have breakfast, pack our luggage since last night is to be at Thon Hotel Svolvaer. The first concert is in Reine church where we can listen to the music of Mozart and Schnittke. We stop in Reine for lunch / soup in Gammelbua. We then continue to concert in Stamsund church / theater. Then we are heading to Thon Hotel Svolvaer and a late dinner.
Day 6: Breakfast and departure.

EXTRA:
On departure day there is planned concert in Trollfjord, with music in dark  and magic nature. The concert is not included in the festival ticket, but can be ordered as an option. For those who want to experience concert in  we recommend to book an additional night. We can help with organizing the additional accommodation, boat trip to the Trollfjord and booking of tickets for this concert. Contact us!

Accomodation at Kræmmervika is in a shared cabin /suite with shared bathroom / 2 - 3 rooms in each cabin.
Singel-cabin might be possible at an additional cost.
